So,,, Who is he?
Hector is the 14th of 102 potential love interests in the game Date Everything. Hector is the home's HVAC, He's my favorite.
As for what kind of man he is, he's introverted and a hermit. His affection for the player is intense but he truly tries not to be overbearing (when he remembers himself). A big aspect of his route is that he is extremely self-conscious about his appearance; he doesn't allow you to see him face-to-face until the end of his route.
Hector has a yearning for the player that borders obsession, but as much as he'll rake himself over hot coals for you, he has an awareness of boundaries.
What makes him so intersting?
To be honest, I see myself in him. At least, some resemblance to an older version of myself. Such innate disappointment of the physical self, but also a want for company and for love. Hector reminds me of myself when I was younger and more willing to allow others to disparge me because I thought I was an eyesore to look at. What really grabbed my eye was the fact that Hector has Boundaries. He has a dislike of himself, enough to jump at the chance for approval by performing acts of service, however, he knows that he doesn't deserve poor treatment. In his Hate route, he is angry at you. He knows that you are being cruel to him, not because he is deserving of the treatment but because there is a problem with you. Thats what made his character so interesting to me. He has an emotional intellegence to him that I admire, and I wish that I had the same sense as he does when I struggled with self esteem. Hector to me encapsulates what it felt like to crush on someone when you believe you are ugly. Some open secret, affection is easily given but theres a fear that your emotions are inherently predatory.

Headcanons
I have a few headcanons for Hector ngl.
- Pansexual, Personality is paramount for his affection. He has a preference for women, however he love-hates the yearning phase that often follows queer relationshiops. Loves writing about them but feels morose that they don't always pan out.
- Kinda Agender? Internal observation he's made about it. Goes by any pronouns but also fr dont care.
- Mama's boy. His mother encouraged his writing. While she passed a bit after hector became an adult, he still thinks of her during the spring as they share a birth month.
Concepts
i dont know how else to describe this section other than what ifs in regards to his character.
- Transgender man relates to guy who's ashamed of his physical body, tale as old as time. this cliche will Not stop me from suggesting that Hector is ftm.
- I like to imagine that he writes poetry in moments of inspiration. He's not as confident in his poetry as he is in his writing, but he holds them close to his heart nonetheless.
- He is either very meticulous or slacking in personal hygiene. like either he takes it extremely serious or he fr doesnt shower sometimes bc standing in the shower makes him feel ill about himself.

- Circus Au where he is a clown who is trying to make it as a romance writer.
- I love a good evil au, so an au where the worst traits he has are magnified. He's overextended how vocal he is about his affections, and has taken to leaving gifts out. ones that reveal just how much he'd been observing you. he's annoyed that others treat your time like you have enough of it, every moment needs to be made perfect, because you were perfect in his stories.
